IMPACT uses assessment as a tool for genuine musical growth. Music theory and literacy are never taught as freestanding units; instead, students learn all theoretical concepts directly through the pieces they study and perform. This ensures that notation, rhythm, key signatures, form, harmony, and musical vocabulary are always connected to real, hands-on music-making. Assessment is continuous and practical—teachers observe how students apply theory in rehearsal, demonstrate understanding while playing, complete short written or digital tasks linked to the repertoire, and reflect on their own progress. This integrated approach works seamlessly across British, American, and international school systems—while providing excellent preparation for IGCSE Music, IB MYP Music, and the IB DP Music course by building the musical thinking, literacy, ensemble skills, and reflective habits required for success.

Self-Assessment and Continuous Feedback
Students regularly reflect on their technical skills, artistic development, and ensemble habits, supported by weekly lesson performance recordings that document real progress over time. Peer assessment and light mentorship are part of every rehearsal, helping students learn to give and receive constructive feedback while supporting one another’s development.

How IMPACT Supports IGCSE & IB Pathways
The IMPACT curriculum builds the essential foundations required for both IGCSE and IB Music by developing confident performers, reflective musicians, and analytically aware learners from the earliest stages. Because theory, literacy, composition skills, and listening habits are taught directly through the pieces students play, learners naturally acquire the terminology, aural awareness, and practical fluency needed for exam courses—without abstract worksheets or disconnected theory units.
